Okay so I am printing this
and thinking it should work for a craft my mother has requested for baby shower decorations- cloth diaper cup holders
so I'll try it & see how it goes…

Wow, thanks for doing this. My dd was 5 lb 14 oz and I ended up using sposies for the first 3 weeks until the newborns fit. I think it’s awesome that you created a pattern for tiny babies!

hi I really want to make my own cloth diapers but I can’t figure out what fabric you use to make them water proof or do you just put the vinyl pooty training pants over them but I would thik it is shame to make them out of cute patterned fabric and then just cover it with a white cover

What is that material that you used to bind the diaper in the picture? Does it work? Everything I’ve tried seems to wick moisture. Help!!

It’s 1″ FOE (fold-over elastic)! 🙂 Love it!

Thanks! I just whipped up a dozen of these for the new baby. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find something to fit a 5lber. They are adorable on top of it.

Just to follow up (a little late, 2 years later)-I made a dozen AIO, and a dozen covers. I ended up with a 7lber 😮 , who came home at a little over 6lbs(really short with a big belly). The AIO were a bit small and only lasted a couple weeks, the covers worked great for the first month, and were pretty much all I used. Everybody wanted to know where they came from! They are also a hit with the boys when they need dolly diapers.

what is the gusset for? I have your os pattern and its not on there, so I am confused now… 🙂 also on this pattern I have to cut the knit fabric bigger than the other fabrics???

It’s the Little Starter Pattern, which has instructions to add the gusset to the cover style.

THANK YOU!! My little man is 5 weeks old and just hitting 7 lbs. We tired to use our name brand cover in extra small and pf but it’s just to BULKY on his little hinder. This pattern is just what we needed. Thank you!

You’ve stumbled onto my old blog! My newer blog (which is still terribly out of date) is http://www.samanthaliz.com and the link to the pattern is http://www.samanthaliz.com/lct_littlestarter_xxs.pdf Hope it works well for your little!
